Sex & The City 2

So, last night I went to a special dinner/showing of Sex & The City 2 with some girl friends. We bought a package at The Biltmore and got dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, a little gift bag and the ticket to the 8:30 movie.

We had a few bumps in the road. Saks must have been the one putting this on because they were giving out Sak-tini's, hor deurves (or however you spell it lol), makeup touch-ups, hair trims, and they even had a little runway show with a very nice purse as the prize.

We must have gotten there late due to getting our gift card for dinner and the movie ticket at the Concierge's desk that we didn't get a Sak-tini! We were very disappointed.

So, we get to the Cheesecake Factory and we're all excited about our 3 course meal that we were expecting. We sit down and are handed a "Sex & The City 2 special menu." This "special menu" offered a choice between little house salad or little ceasar salad, 4 cheese pasta or alfredo pasta and regular cheesecake or strawberry cheesecake.

No one EVER told us there was a set menu. We immediately asked to speak to the Manager who nicely explained that this menu was picked out 2 months prior and that the Organizer of this event said she communicated that with everyone who bought tickets. LIE!!! We knew nothing except that we were getting a 3 course meal. Cheese pasta with no meat is not a mean to me! I'm sorry....

So, the manager said as long as we ordered something around the same price as what was offered, she was ok with that. Praise the Lord! Oh, and you betcha, we will all be calling or emailing the Organizer of this event to let her know how disappointed we were with our food selection.

I had to get the Red Velvet Cheesecake because it's just TO.DIE.FOR and quite frankly, I don't really like regular cheesecake. The pieces are so big, I have leftovers. YUM!!!!!

On to the movie.....

We walk across the street to the movie theatre and they have a big poster like thing standing up where we got our pictures taken in front of. (Speaking of, I need to check to see if it's online yet). I couldn't pass this up....I love pictures AND we can download the picture for free!!! WOOHOO! Even better!!

The movie was awesome! I loved it. It was very funny.....unlike the first one.
I was surprised to see a few guys there but then when one sat next to us, I knew why he was there. He was very flamboyantly gay. Throughout the entire movie, he would comment on how cute everyone looked, how hot the guys looked, told the girls in the theatre to keep it down.....he was a peach! Def. could have lived without him there!

I can't wait to see it again and def. buy it on DVD. Maybe I'll wait for Black Friday like last year when I bought the 1st one for $3!!!! I love deals!

Once I get the pictures downloaded....I will update with them.

Now...GO SEE THE MOVIE!!

Wow...2 years already?!

Really? It's been 2 years since we got married?!? Where has the time gone?! I can't believe it.

Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday but other times it feels a lot longer than 2years.

We didn't do much today because we are going to San Diego on Saturday but we did end up going out to dinner. We went to Buster's in Scottsdale thanks to a recommendation from Taylor. We loved it!!!

So, we didn't do gifts either since we'll be spending a decent amount of money in SD. DH did get me chocolate covered strawberries though and I bought a chocolate cake. Oh I can feel the pounds already! haha

Without further ado....here are some wedding pics! Enjoy!

I LOVED our wedding and wish we could do it again!!!

Friday's Favorite

I know...it's been a while since I've written a post. I've just felt like I had nothing good to write about.

Well, I found THE cutest baby booties. I'm hoping to ask my Mom if she learn how to make these so one day when I have a baby, she came make them! hehe

I saw these on Baby Makin(g) Machine blog. And she found them on Etsy-seller is Mimi's Babies. Baby Makin(g) Machine's blog is great...and she's due with her first "human Spawn" as she calls her soon-to-be little girl.

WE DID IT...

WE JOINED A GYM!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

We are so excited! When we lived in NY, we went to Planet Fitness. We liked it but it didn't have everything we wanted......no pool, no cardio room, no scale (it was a Judgement Free Zone haha).

When we moved to AZ, we said that we'd just use our Apt. gym. Now, mind you, it's about the size of our 1 bedroom apartment. haha So, we can't do a whole lot there and well, there just isn't a lot there. It was frustrating so we basically stopped.

Then, I found Zumba...love it and the place I was going to, had it for $5 on Wed. nights. and then after April, they only had it for $5 on Sundays at 7pm. We are on a bowling league on Sunday nights AND if we weren't, I wouldn't want to go work out at 7pm.

So, today we decided to head to LA Fitness to get a tour and ask about prices.

We loved the place....they have a pool, sauna, hot tub aka jacuzzi (as they call it), steam room, tons of free weights, full length basketball court, day care (which we don't need yet), a salon/barber shop (I laughed at this), tons of cardio machines, and the most important one for me is the CARDIO room. They have SO many classes that I love, it's awesome. I will most likely be in there most of the time but will also be using the other things.

YAY to getting back into pre-wedding shape and prepping my body for a baby....whenever my body decides to cooperate with me. LOL

Good Riddens April

I'm so glad I only see you once a year because you really pissed me off this year!

A little tid bit about Mrs. A (that's me-wink wink).....I used to cry a lot. And when I say used to, I mean, before I met my husband. I don't know why I would cry a lot, I always thought I was just a very emotional person. When I look back, I don't think that's the reason, I think I was just unhappy or uncertain about my life at that time.

When I met my husband, everything seemed so amazing that I had no reason to cry and well, I haven't cried much since meeting him. The reasons I've cried since meeting him include: *we were doing a long distance relationship for the first 4 months of our relationship so I missed him *when he almost didn't move to NY *when I watch movies or tv shows, I cry over the silliest stuff ....so, these are the only reasons I can think of.

Well, Wednesday, April 28th, I cried....and it wasn't for any of the reasons I listed above.

We have been house hunting since Mid January. To be completely honest, I thought it was going to be so fun, (I watch House Hunters....I know, stuff on TV is not true reality) exciting, etc. All the joys a new home can bring just made me believe that we would find one fast. And how incredible the housing market is for homebuyers right now also gave me false hope. We wanted the Tax Credit....who wouldn't? A "free" $8000 for buying a home...CHA-CHING! Yeah...it ends TODAY and well, we do not have a signed contract.

To make along story short....we have an offer on a Short Sale and have since Feb. 9th. We've been looking since but still holding out hope for that house. I love it! We found one in Paradise Valley that we loved on Tuesday night. It was an older home, needed some work but nothing major that would break the bank or drives us to go batshit crazy. We put the offer in 7am Wednesday morning....by 11am, we found out that they had an accepted offer from Tuesday night and they never updated the information online so we didn't know.........

I cried....and cried.....and cried a little more. lol

I told myself not to get emotionally attached to this house as a good chance of a higher bidder or cash offer were likely. I couldn't help it... the tears...they just started flowing and wouldn't stop for a good 15 minutes.

Not only was it the house but I also started my period. This concludes 5 active months of TTC with no luck and add 2 months of "just seeing what happens." So, a total of 7 months with no BFP (Big Fat Positive).

Needless to say, I'm SO happy to kick April out and start fresh in May! We will plan to go see Dr's to get us tested in hopes of finding us both fertile and ok with the timing part being the issue.

Surprisingly, I'm still very optimistic. Does that surprise you? Because it surprises me....I don't know why I am. I pray every night for the strength to get through this hard time and for the Lord to provide us with a healthy child when He knows we are ready. I only wish I knew when that time was going to happen.

God, give us grace to accept with serenitythe things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the thingswhich should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguishthe one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

A little Hippie like

Yes, I made my own deodorant and my husband called me a Hippie. haha

I've searched high and low for years trying to find a deodorant without antiperspirant in it because that's what they have linked to Breast Cancer. I've found some without it but they just do NOT work. Half way through the day, (mind you, I sit at a desk all day) I'm starting to stink. That's not good and often leads me to putting Dove on at work. haha

A girl I know, Jaye, told me about a recipe she had for making your own deodorant. You can go here for the recipe.

I made it today. It was SUPER easy and it's now sitting in the fridge hardening up. Tomorrow I will use it. I really hope it works as it's going to be way cheaper than buying deodorant AND so much better for me! I'll keep you posted after I try it!

Thanks, Jaye!
